Guru Nanak Dev University College, Chungh (Tarn Taran)
This college has been established in 2011 under the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. It is an institution with a sprawling campus. This college is situated in the green surroundings of the countryside far from madding crowd and pollution of the city. The well equipped Science block and well furnished Arts block are the top priority. Wings of this College have Arts, Science/Computers and Commerce faculties. This establishment is a result of united effort of UGC, Government of Punjab and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. This college is under the new scheme with special purposes of raising the standard of higher education specially in rural area.
This constituent college is under GNDU Management. It is the responsibility of the University to appoint or recruit the staff of the college. But it will get financial support from Punjab Government and UGC. For that reason, the fee structure has been according to the government colleges. Private college are out of the reach of the needy students. This constituent college has been established to provide qualitative and affordable education. The credit also goes to Vice-Chancellor of University, who has put in great efforts to establish this college.
